“In early 2009, the SFPA determined a need to devise a training module for its staff to equip them with the capabilities of dealing with conflict and confrontational situations if they ever arose in the course of completing legislative duties. Following on from this and on foot of a tendering process, Mark Toner of the International Centre for Security Excellence was selected as the training service provider.


Throughout the latter stages of 2009, Mark dedicated a large degree of his time to work closely with personnel of the SFPA with the intention of designing a training course that was specific to the needs of the SFPA. This was more than adequately achieved and the resultant course was rolled out on an intensive basis over 5 periods (each of a day and a half) in March of 2010.
